Sensitised staff.
All staff are trained on transgender rights, pronouns, mental health, safety and consent before they begin duty.
The Garima Greh is anchored in the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 and the Ministry’s guidelines. Every resident is entitled to the protections below.
Every resident is addressed by their self-identified name, gender and pronouns — both in the home and in our records.
We do not tolerate verbal abuse, physical harm, harassment or discrimination — by staff, fellow residents or visitors.
Personal history, medical records and counselling notes are confidential — shared only with the resident’s consent.
The same rules apply to every resident — ensuring a congenial atmosphere where everyone is treated equally.
We help residents access free legal aid through NALSA panel lawyers and statutory protection officers wherever required.
A clear grievance redressal mechanism — anonymous suggestion box, monthly house meetings and an escalation path to the Ministry.
Residents are not held against their will. Anyone wishing to leave is supported with transition planning and onward referrals.
We work continuously so that every resident experiences dignity in the smallest details — from the bed they sleep on to the way they are addressed.
All staff are trained on transgender rights, pronouns, mental health, safety and consent before they begin duty.
Bathrooms, sleeping areas and shared spaces are designed and signposted to be safe for transgender residents.
Admission, daily routine, complaints, exits and emergencies all follow written protocols anchored to Ministry SOPs.
Reach out — confidentially. We will guide you to the right kind of help.
